Kim Wakerman (born in 1990) is a Eurasian (of Czech and Chinese parentage) actor-presenter in Singapore. Wakerman has acted in the children’s favorite drama series We are R.E.M, when she was a child. After her child acting stint, she continued to stay on Kids Central and focused on hosting instead. E.g.  KCDC (Kids Central Direct Connection) in 2006 and recently hosted the newer season of Mat Yoyo on Okto in 2012 and in early 2013. When Wakerman was four, her parents enrolled her in a speech and drama class.  During her earlier years in the media, Wakerman was involved in the Kids Central Music Video MTV— There’s a Kid in me! along with other prominent Kids Central stars.

 

Trivia

 

At the tender age of five, her exotic good looks landed her in many modeling assignments and she has also appeared in countless press shoots and has sashayed on the runway during live fashion shows. Also while she was studying at CHIJ Katong Convent, drama classes were compulsory. Wakerman enjoyed such activities, which ultimately landed her in the media industry.

 

What is she doing now?


Wakerman recently completed her studies in Melbourne and rejoined the local showbiz industry, hosting the brand new Mat Yoyo.

Boon Hui Lu

Prominent appearances:

 

Hui Lu (born in 1993) had her first onscreen experience was in the movie, Homerun, when she was 9 years old. She landed a minor role after going through several auditions held in her school. After that, she acted a main role in Rhapsody in Blue, her first show produced by Mediacorp. Subsequently, she acted in other Mediacorp shows such as My School Daze and Rescue 995, before switching her focus to studies and taking up part-time acting jobs instead.

 

Besides acting, Hui Lu is also interested in singing and had actively involved in various singing competitions in the recent years. These competitions include Stardust 2012 (an annual nationwide talent-search competition organized by the NUS Bizad Club), (a Taiwanese singing competition), and The Final 1. Her greatest sense of achievement came from having the opportunity to represent Singapore in the Taiwanese singing competition. Even though she was eliminated in the first round, she had no regrets as she thought that it was a dream come true.

Hui Lu has her own youtube channel where she sings and does covers of some of the popular pop songs.

 

What is she doing now?

 

She is currently studying Accountancy in NTU and does occasional filming in Mediacorp.


AWARDS

 

Hui Lu won the Young Talent Award (青苹果奖) in 2006 for Rhapsody in Blue and also nominated for Young Talent Award (青苹果奖) in 2010 for My School Daze.

Besides receiving rewards on acting, Hui Lu was the 1st Runner Up for Vocals Solo category of Stardust 2012  and she represented Singapore in《華文星光大道》in 2012

This girl also got into Top 40 in The Final 1 (Season 1) in 2013.
