Ho’s impressive acting career started brightly,
starring besides local television greats, Xie Shao Guang and HuangBi Ren in the award winning Stand By Me (1998) as their
precocious son. Ho then went on to feature in other drama serials such as God Of Fortune (1999) and We Are Not Kidding. His years of working in the industry culminated in his role as Robbie in Robbie and The Book of Tales, for which he is best known. The show was a pioneer in more thoughtful local English programming for children in Singapore. It centers around the lead character. Robbie’s adventures with a book that brings local and international
myths to life. The ambitious show is remembered fondly by the generation that grew up with television as their chief source of
entertainment.

 Ho made his film debut in the Taiwanese movie, My Valentine (2001). He also had a supporting role as Tan Seow Hay in
the Jack Neo movie, Homerun (2003).
 

Trivia

 

Ho has trained to be a pilot after signing on with the Republic of Singapore Air Force. 

 

What is he doing now?

 

Ho is currently pursuing a degree in
Communication Studies in Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University. He has made a couple of student films which you can see in his youtube channel.

Samuel Tan

Name:  Samuel Tan Chee Long

Prominent appearances:

 

Samuel Tan's interest in performing resulted in him bugging his parents to let him join a children's singing competition. Following which, he was asked by TV producers to audition for the role of Luo Tou in Channel 8's 1996 drama serial Tofu Street. At only age 6, he capped an impressive acting performance as a 'child groom' opposite lead actress Cynthia Koh and later took part in two other dramas namely My Family, My Wife (1996) and Ordinary Ambitions (1997). He quit acting when he was 10 but later joined Channel U's Campus Superstar in 2006 to pursue his strong interest in singing.    


Trivia

 

He got the role of Luo Tou in Tofu Street because he corrected Cynthia Koh's lines during the audition. Also, since 2008, Samuel has been in a band called the Quis, playing Japanese rock and US pop songs. 

 

What is he doing now?

 

After graduating from Nanyang Junior College and subsequently Nanyang Technological University with a degree in Communications Studies he now does corporate communication at a real estate agency.

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

 

 

Daniel Ashriq

Name:  noriff danial ashriq

Years active: 1999- present

 

Prominent appearances:

 

Born in 1991, Danial first started out as a child actor in many Kids Central and Suria programs such as Dian - Hidayah on Suria when he was around 7/8 years old. He was the host for many Kids Central programs, (e.g. Kids Central’s talent contest “One Minute of Fame”). He also recorded a song and filmed a music video with the other Kids Central stars called “There’s a kid in me”.  

 

Danial’s most notable work would be his role as Rafi, as Sergeant Dollah’s (Suhaimi Yusof) son in the hit Channel 5 sitcom Police and Thief that aired for 6 seasons from 2004 – 2010. The show was a household hit among the audiences, particularly among the younger generations because it starred 4 children, whom the young audiences could relate to easily even when they eventually grew up into teens during the later seasons.

 

Danial also starred as one of the main characters of a musical-styled drama on Okto called Dream School that premiered in late 2010. For 2 seasons, Danial, along with the whole cast had to rap, sing and dance in front of the cameras.


Effectively bilingual, Danial demonstrates fluidity by taking up drama roles and hosting programs from 3 different channels (Okto / Kids Central, Channel 5 and Suria), thus quickly gains fans from different backgrounds and ethnicity. 
 

What is he doing now?

 

Danial graduated from the Management Development Institute of Singapore (mass communications). He continues to take up roles in Suria as well as being the current 1 out of 4 hosts for the new generation of Mat Yoyo telecasted on Suria, Channel 8, Okto and Vasantham, which premiered in January 2012. 

 

22 in 2013, Danial’s popularity among the general audiences has started soaring. He was even nominated for the Personaliti Lelaki Paling Popular award (Most popular male personality award) for the Pesta Perdana Awards in 2013.

Kids Central Music Video MTV — There’s a Kid in me! won the SILVER award in the World Promax Awards back in 2006.
